Steady white noise may be good for sleep, but loud noises coming from your HVAC system are not only disruptive, but probably an indication of an underlying issue. Any sounds louder than a slight hum (squealing, gurgling, or hissing) are probably a sign that it’s time to have your system checked before a larger problem arises. Your system may need minor repairs or you may want to switch to a more quiet unit like a ductless system.

Pollen, pet dander, dust, debris—even dangerous gases like radon or carbon monoxide, can all lead to poor indoor air quality which can trigger allergies, asthma, and can cause or worsen other breathing issues. It is important to regularly change your air filters, ensure your bedroom has adequate ventilation and circulation, and schedule regular maintenance for your HVAC system.
